Two open letters to the board

Two board members have submitted open letters to the board. They are available here for your perusal:

The first has been written by Ms. McCarty. She is rightfully concerned both by how the bids for repairing our roof were gathered without any specifications being given to the contractors, and by how the winning bid was selected without any due diligence. The letter is available by clicking on this link.

The second open letter to the board has been written by Mr. Bogdan regarding the dog weight policy and the selective enforcement of condo rules, and can be found by clicking on this link.

Ms. McCarty and Mr. Bogdan were the only two board members who opposed selecting the contractor who submitted the highest bid, but they were outvoted (and as usual, Mrs. Ingold did not need to cast her vote). Bids ranged from around $130,000 to $300,000.

Mr. Bogdan is trying to gather 20% of the unit owners in order to call a special meeting of the board. If you want to reduce your years of special assessments and/or want the pool opened this summer, now is your chance to do something about it.

  1. Tom Koehler says:

I do not know which unit(s) on the 16th floor is having severe water damage due to the condition of the roof-a casual poll of my 16th floor neighbors has yet to turn up any complaints. While I agree that the roof must be replaced, I question the necessity of taking immediate and uninformed action without thoroughly examing the problem.

I expect that all decisions are to be made by the entire board contributing a variety of opinions, not by a single member with one agenda. Let us try prevent another less-than-thorough job like the balcony rehab, or the garage work or should we just expect to constantly repair then re-repair every builiding project.

How do I add my voice to the call for a special meeting?
